Ketchup
Spices – onion powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt and pepper and a dash of cayenne.

HOW TO MAKE HOMEMADE HAMBURGER HELPER
To make your Homemade Hamburger Helper, you only need one pan! Grab a large skillet and start by browning the beef or ground turkey in a large skillet over medium heat until no longer pink. Drain the grease from the meat and return the meat to your skillet.

Add the macaroni pasta, spices, beef stock, ketchup, sour cream to the meat and stir your ingredients to combine completely.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef or turkey
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 6 ounce tomato sauce
  • 2 cups low-sodium beef broth
  • 2 cups dried whole wheat elbow macaroni noodles
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley leaves

Instructions

  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add in the meat and brown up, breaking up into small pieces. Once meat is cooked, drain off any fat and return to heat.
  • Add tomato paste and seasonings. Cook for 2 minutes to develop flavor. Add in tomato sauce and beef broth and bring to a boil.
  • Add in noodles and turn down to medium heat. Cook for 10-12 minutes, stirrinng occasionally, Stir in sour cream until well combined. Cook for until noodles cooked through and sauce is absorbed.
  • Stir in and serve. garnished parsley, if desired.
