Ingredients

  • 2 Tablespoons olive oil
  • 5 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 2 cans great northern beans or any other white bean
  • 1 can tomato sauce 15 oz
  • 1/4 cup dried parsley or 1/2 cup fresh
  • salt
  • freshly ground pepper

Instructions

  • Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Add garlic, red pepper flakes, and a pinch of salt. Saute until garlic starts to brown, approximately 2-3 minutes.
  • Add tomato sauce and 1/2 cup of water. Stir and reduce heat to low.
  • simmer for 20-25 minutes until thickened, stirring occasionally.
  • When ready to serve, drain the beans and mix the beans into the sauce. Let heat for a few minutes to warm the beans. Add parsley to the sauce. Season to taste with salt, red pepper.
  • Use this recipe as a side dish or main course. with mix-ins, or with bread.
