- 1 lbs of fresh or frozen green beans
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh thyme
- 1/4 cup sliced almonds
- 1/4 cup raisin
- freshly ground pepper
Cook the green beans in a large pot of boiling salted water until just crisp-tender, about 5 minutes.
Drain the beans and transfer them to a large bowl of ice water, cooling them completely.
Melt the butter in a large, heavy skillet over medium high heat. then add the almonds and raisin and thyme. stirring frequently.
Add the beans to the skillet , gently tossing the green beans with the almond mixture until evenly combined and the green beans are tender. and season to taste with salt and freshly ground pepper. Serve immediately.
